to write, or to edit, THAT is the question....

I'm having a serious dilemma, guys. As you might know, I've been working on my series, Victim of Prophecy, very seriously for over two years now. Of the five books, I have first drafts written of three of them. I'm about 10,000 words into the fourth, but I'm stuck. I know a couple of things happening in the middle, and I know the beginning and end, but I don't know anything else!!

On the other hand, I have sitting in front of me a HUGE binder that contains the first draft of the second book in the series. If you saw my post from yesterday, you've seen the results of me having that manuscript screaming up at me. But though I'm passionate about the story, the idea of going through and editing it makes me want to crawl into a corner and die.

I could also edit the third book in my series (Heaven knows it needs it, especially since I'm changing the whole book from first person to third), but I don't currently have a manuscript printed, I don't know if I have enough paper/ink to do so, and I'm waiting to get feedback from a friend on the draft I sent her.

And, just for fun, let's add a fourth option: I could write something completely different. I have a couple WIPs I could work on that aren't involved in this world at all. But I kind of can't get my brain out of this world....

So what are your thoughts? Should I try to write, or should I edit what I've already written?

Wish me luck!

What I've been obsessed with all day....

So, this is what I've been obsessed with all day today....

It's the cover for the second book in my Victim of Prophecy series--or, the second prequel, anyway. It's not an official cover--if you've been following my blog for a while, you know that I like to make faux covers for my stories. It makes me happy :)

Anyway, I am back! I have started writing again! And I'm really trying to make a goal to write every day, despite how crazy busy my life is right now. I'm never happier then when I'm buried in a story, and I'm going to do everything I can to make sure I get that opportunity every day.

So here's to hoping I can finish at least one first draft before the end of the semester. It would be great if I could finish two, but I'm not sure that's realistic hahaha.

What are some of your goals for writing this year?
